    Shelley enjoys working with and appreciates all aesthetics, and thrives on creating homes layered with character unique to each client. She personally looks after each client as she tailors her design solutions to meet her client's individual wants, needs, style and taste. She creates spaces that reflect her client's personality and the way they live. She believes that we should all walk into our homes and feel complete love and joy as our surroundings envelop us with warmth and comfort.

    Shelley's clients value her efficiency and reliability, as well as her genuine patience, friendly demeanor and pure love of what she does. Her passion for design and enthusiastic energy is obvious and has earned her the reputation as a designer who is easy to work with and committed to quality outcomes.

    Born in South Africa, Shelley has lived around the world - a key influence in the ever evolving eclectic, textural, cozy and delightful looks that she is known for. Shelley infuses little bits of culture and tradition into all of her designs as she adds her own layered, signature blend. In addition, her continuous research and keeping abreast of design trends results in a wonderfully curated "story" in which she includes special details that are unique to each individual project.

Inspired by her mother and grandmother, both exceptionally talented seamstresses, Shelley was creative from a young age, and has always had a love for decor, fashion and art. Shelley studied Interior Design and Fashion Design in South Africa, Australia and San Diego, and as a result has developed a passion for design from different cultures and eras. She started out in the Fashion Design arena where she owned and operated her own business in South Africa for many years.

After immigrating to San Diego, Shelley experienced a brief stint in the corporate world of telecommunications. Whilst enjoying that world, after a few years, her creativity took over and she was drawn back into the design world, but this time with Interiors.


Today Shelley Sass Designs and Sass Construction and Design is a full-service Interior Design and General Construction Company, assisting clients world wide with a wide variety of services including:
whole and partial home/room remodels, furniture, lighting, accessories, flooring, window treatments, re-upholstery, closet design, space planning, 3D rendering, garage doors, landscape design, windows and doors, painting, collaborating with architects and contractors/builders, designing custom pieces and more.
